Hi all I hope all is well,

This message is to start the conversation on several issues. Start date of the internal leagues and how many county teams we can run.

  1. Start date for the internal leagues

We are asking the university for a confirmation date of what is the earliest we can start these, but we also want to ask you what your preference is. It is difficult to start a league with partial support as it then becomes messy when people start to choose to ‘opt in’ in large numbers later. I am also mindful not all like playing during the summer period and that we will all need to build up our squash fitness slowly to prevent injuries.

So, I have several questions which if you reply to will help me to work with Adrian to set up things on the system. We want a consensus.

If we decide to delay a start date to e.g.  September we could arrange a ladder system as a stop gap

So, a few questions to get a feel for people’s wishes,

  1. Are you still interested in playing in the internal club leagues and if so, what is your preferred start date for them?
  2. If we start the leagues at the towards the end of the summer , for example September would you be interested in a ladder league as a stop gap ?

Remember once we have decided the start date make sure you have checked the opt in / op out status you want before we run the program. The system arranges the league cycle based on those who have opted in. If you fail to select or check you have your correct option before we run the cycle you will be left out or in incorrectly until the next cycle.

  1. Number of county league winter teams we run for 21/22

We have yet to hear any dialogue from the County but in preparation it would be useful if we knew how many teams we could run. Last time we had three teams so logic says we can carry on with that number, but we do need to know what the current interest is or people’s availability after a year of non activity.

So, another question is are you interested in playing in one of the teams?

Once we have a feel for the total squad number, we can then rank everybody and decide who is in what team and how many teams we could enter.

I hope that all makes sense,
